Pink Complete is a “complete” healthy lifestyle program for any breast cancer survivor who is currently not in treatments. Study after study shows very strong evidence that a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and healthy nutrition can help diminish the side effects of cancer treatments and can substantially reduce recurrence of cancer in breast cancer survivors.
Pink Complete is a FREE program designed specifically for breast cancer survivors. It is held outside of any type of medical facility to focus on a healthy new beginning. The program will address ways to get stronger, healthier and to prevent recurrence. A YMCA membership is NOT required. Survivors are welcome to bring a support person to the first session. No prior exercise experience is necessary. It is appropriate for all fitness levels from the ready-to-be-fit beginner exerciser to the experienced advanced exerciser.
Pink Complete was designed by Michelle Remlinger, who has over 25-years of experience designing and overseeing health and fitness programs. She is certified as an ACSM Personal Trainer, Health and Fitness Specialist, ACSM Cancer Exercise Trainer, Cancer Exercise Specialist, Breast Cancer Recovery Specialist, ACE Group Fitness Instructor, Pilates Instructor, Health Coach and Breast Cancer Wellness Coach, Yoga Instructor and a Lifestyle and Weight Management consultant. Several other experienced health and fitness professionals will participate in the program, including a registered dietician with over 25-years of experience that includes overseeing an oncology dietary department and a licensed oncology social worker who is a breast cancer survivor.
Pink Complete 8-week sessions are offered April/May and October/November on Wednesdays at 7:15 pm beginning the second Wednesday in April and the second Wednesday in October. Each of the 8 individual sessions is approximately one hour long in a friendly, fun and supportive group environment. The sessions will include education on breast cancer and exercise, fatigue, education on lymphedema prevention, healthy nutrition, an individual assessment, upper extremity exercises, yoga specifically for breast cancer survivors, pilates specifically for breast cancer survivors, Zumba, information on a walking program, strength training, cycling, healthy lifestyle choices that can reduce recurrence, meditation, emotional health, survivorship, spirituality and quality of life and much more!
Pink Complete MAINTENANCE is a once-a-month free class, held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:15 pm for all survivors who completed one of the 8-week sessions, in order to keep the complete healthy lifestyle going!
